When you need remodeling work done, you go through a professional, licensed, and insured contractor. You probably already know that it is a good idea to reach out to a few different companies if you have never gone through a project like this before. Part of the remodeling process is getting written offers from these companies. They should come out out to your home and see your house, as well as speak to you in person about what you are envisioning. The next step is to receive a free written estimate within a few weeks. That should be it, right? You receive information from a few companies and chose the one willing to do the work for the cheapest price, right? No! Beattie Development will tell you what others are not willing to say- you don’t always want to go with the lowest offer!
There are several reasons why this is true:
#1 Cheapest isn’t always good quality. In fact, it rarely ever is. Do you drive the cheapest car possible? Did you buy the cheapest clothes to wear to work? Do you wear the cheapest shoes every day? Probably not, and you already know why. They aren’t the best-made products! If you don’t want to wear the cheapest shoes because they’ll end up hurting your feet or looking bad, imagine what getting the cheapest products in your home will do.
#2 They may not be using good labor. There is a certain wage that the best cabinet installers, painters, plumbers, and other laborers will work for. These are highly-specialized skills and those who do them well are treated with immense respect. If a company promises to provide you with super cheap work, it could be because their workers aren’t the best. They could be unlicensed and uninsured. This is a major red flag.
#3 Their warranty may fall through. Sometimes, a good deal really is too good to be true. If a company isn’t charging enough, they may actually go out of business. While it may seem great your project got done before they went under, you will regret your decision once the low-quality products and unskilled workers’ craftsmanship start to show. Your warranty will be worthless if there is no company left to honor it!
#4 You want a good working relationship. During the remodeling process, there are some aspects of the project that you can’t put a price tag on. We are talking, of course, about the relationship you have with the company. If you go with the cheapest, often times you are sacrificing actually enjoying the remodeling experience because you’ll be forced to go with someone who is less-than-stellar to have in your home.
#5 It may not look good. You want to fix what you don’t like about your house, not give yourself another eyesore. Just like with so many other things in life, you get what you pay for with flooring, cabinets, light fixtures, and backsplashes. If you want it to look great, you need to be ready to bring in the best and no one else.
Beattie Development should be your first call for remodeling work! Will we be the cheapest? Maybe and maybe not. Will we offer the absolute best products, installed by the industry’s top craftsman? Absolutely! When you choose Beattie Development, you’re going with a company you will trust and who will deliver a fantastic experience.
