Our remodeling team is the best in Southwest Florida. That is why we love to show off our work! Someone just like you recently went from a less-than-great kitchen to this modern masterpiece:
This newly-remodeled kitchen is a perfect example of the contemporary, modern style we provide for so many of our clients. So, what exactly is “Contemporary”? If you were looking for a word that describes what contemporary home decor was then that would be “simplicity.” Of course, simple doesn’t mean boring and this kitchen proves that! Our modern decor kitchens feature sleek, clean lines, a monochromatic color palette, and geometric shapes to complete a look that is anything but bland. In fact, this room proves that contemporary home decor can be both inviting and very stylish.
To make this kitchen “pop” we added a darker accent color for the kitchen island cabinetry which helps differentiate the island from the main kitchen cabinets. These sleek counter tops are MIRALIS brand, from Canada, and are top of the line. Paired with sleek custom hardware pulls that are mostly hidden from view, the cabinets are given a clean look and feel. We paired these shaker style doors with a muted Cambria Quartz counter top in a neutral color called Britanica. This over sized, single bowl Metallic Grey Duragranite Sink goes great with the lighter colored counter tops. We topped off the look of this kitchen with a nice gray paint from Sherwin Williams, called Repose Gray- not too dark but not plain white either. It is the perfect color to add some warmth to this space.
A contemporary kitchen like this works well because our team focused on five key elements:
#1 Simple. As discussed before, simple doesn’t mean boring here. It means “uncomplicated.”
#2 Functional. A kitchen that is designed with contemporary decor in mind should have ample room to cook and entertain, and everything should be easy to access.
#3 Clean. A clean decor means free of extra clutter and ornate designs. Another way to think of a clean kitchen would be “sleek.”
#4 Technology. You can’t have a modern kitchen without the most technologically-advanced appliances on the market today. The refrigerator, double-oven, and cook-top are all top of the line!
#5 Open Space. A key to any modern decor is having plenty of open space. This may not be totally possible in some older homes that weren’t built with an open concept, but you can create the appearance of open spaces by using bold colors and textures to your advantage.
